Whenever possible, we try to source flowers from local flower farms across the Niagara Region, and in the summer we grow our own flowers. However, as we cannot control mother nature, we do also source international flowers. When purchasing internationally, we only purchase from farms affiliated with rain forest alliance and fair trade international ensuring safer environmental practices for the planet and humane and safe work places for all employees.
The timer on flowers starts the moment they are cut from the ground. However, if flowers are properly cared for, they should last a minimum of one week.
We believe that if flowers are properly cared for, there is no need for flower food.
When you get home, unwrap the flowers and trim the stems on an angle. This is an important part because once the flowers leave our truck and are out of water, the bottom of the stems will dry out. By cutting the stems, they are once again fresh and ready to absorb water. Make sure that there are no leaves below the water line.
We suggest changing the water at least every other day, and slightly trimming the stems at that time.
Flowers are priced by the stem and the cost ranges depending on the variety of flower you choose and the season. Most stems range from $3-6.
